The Asian Executive 2024 Lunar New Year Celebration

For the Lunar New Year of the Dragon, The Asian Executive and Event Partners, Multiplex, PEXA, Zagame Automotive, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Melbourne, Bentley Melbourne, Cushman & Wakefield, Mayland Projects and Anton Jewellery to celebrate Asian Australian achievement in Australia.

The guest list included some of Australia’s most prominent and prolific property investors and developers, together with esteemed guests of Bentley of Melbourne and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Melbourne.

Our official MCs for the evening were Mr Frank McMahon, Regional Director of Multiplex and Ms Jen Tian (featured on the post feature image), Director, Private Credit, Merricks Capital.

Honoured guests included Mr David Li AM, Chairman of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and his wife Angela Li, Mr Clement Lee OAM, Chairman of Riverlee and his wife Betty Lee and their son David Lee and wife Cherise, and Mr David Hackett, Chief Executive Officer of Merricks Capital. 

MC Frank McMahon explained in his opening comments that “The Years of the Dragon include 2036, 2024, 2012, 2000, 1988, 1976, 1964 and 1952. People born in Dragon years usually possess natural courage, tenacity, and intelligence, often displaying enthusiasm and confidence. 2024 is forecast to bring about opportunities, changes, and challenges.”

Co-Founder of The Asian Executive, Rick Wong stated to a packed house of guests, “With all the news of doom and gloom in Australia, we can sometimes lose sight of the bigger picture – that Australia still a place where hard work and a modicum of lady luck can still produce  success stories by first-generation migrants from every facet of our remarkably diverse and relatively harmonious society.”

He went on to say that ‘Lunar New Year is Asia’s culturally most significant calendar event to celebrate past achievement and reaffirm core Asian values caring for family and friends and contributing back to society through individual and collective philanthropy.”

Anton Jewellery had on display some of the rarest diamonds and gems available in Australia.

There was the grand spectacle of ceremonial Chinese lions enveloped by a pyro technic display effects bestowing good fortune, good health, and prosperity upon all guests.

Talented Asian Australian and “The Voice” finalist, Mary Ann Van de Horst lead the evening with unique “Beyonce-like” vocal chords to the evening’s entertainment.

The event was hosted in an elegantly lunar new year themed River Room ballroom with its million-dollar skyline views of Melbourne.

Bentley and Rolls-Royce wowed guests with their very latest, luxurious vehicles on prominent display (refer gallery images).

Six bottles of prestige wine from the Yarra Valley’s, Levantine Hill Estate were generously donated by Mr Waco Tao, CEO & Founder of Powerhouse Homes for the lucky prizes.

Winners of the lucky prize draw included Mr Dug Pomeroy OAM, Executive Chairman of Pomeroy Pacific  (who fortuitously won with the lucky number ‘180’) and other elated winners.

Special mentions were made of Nicole Chow Founder of UAG, Matthew Khoo, CEO ICD Property,  Jack Wang, CEO & Managing Director U-Homes Oceania and Linda Xu, Director of Client Relationships, Mayland Projects.
